A Heavy-traffic Feasible Intra-cycle Sleep Mechanism for Power Saving in 10G-EPON

Abstract

Based on fast wake-up ONU, an intra-cycle sleep mechanism is proposed to perform energy conservation with little degradation of QoS even under heavy traffic load in 10G-EPON. Both mathematical analysis and comparative simulation are performed.
