Abstract

Giant optical propelling velocities of 15-20 µm polystyrene microspheres are observed in evanescent fiber-taper-to-microsphere couplers. The results demonstrate a possibility of parallel particle-sorting according to the frequency of their whispering gallery mode resonances.
