Integrated Al2O3:Er3+ DFB Laser for Temperature Control Free Operation with Silicon Nitride Ring Filter

Abstract

We demonstrate almost synchronized temperature dependent wavelength shift of Al2O3:Er3+ DFB laser (2.57 GHz/°C) and Si3N4 ring filter (2.47 GHz/°C), which makes it possible for on-chip transceiver operation without temperature control.
