Transverse mode competition in index-antiguided planar waveguide lasers with large mode area

Abstract

We study transverse mode competition in index-antiguided planar lasers theoretically and experimentally. Robust fundamental mode operating 10 times above lasing threshold is predicted and confirmed experimentally.
