Simultaneous Measurement of Strain and Temperature using High Sensitivity Multicore Fiber Sensors

Abstract

We demonstrate strain sensors consisting of multicore fiber spliced between two single mode fibers, with increased sensitivity to a factor of 12x a standard FBG. Simultaneous decoupling of strain and temperature measurements are also demonstrated.
