All-optical Q-switching limiter for a 5-GHz SESAM-modelocked laser with record-high peak power

We use a Kerr-lens induced all-optical limiter to reduce Q-switching instabilities in a high-power diode-pumped 5-GHz SESAM-modelocked Yb:CALGO laser. This supports cw modelocking with 4.1-W average output power and 96-fs pulses, leading 7.5-kW peak power.
