Real-Time Averaging of Repetitive Optical Waveforms by Non-Integer Factors based on Temporal Self-Imaging

Abstract

We report a new method to divide the repetition-rate of a periodic waveform train by a fractional factor based on energy-preserving processes, implementing an equivalent real-time averaging of the input waveforms by the rate-division factor.
