Optical Aspect of Ultrafast Laser Ablation on Transparent Dielectrics: Ciliary White Light

Abstract

We report on a new nonlinear optical phenomenon during laser ablation on transparent dielectrics, coined as ciliary white light. It is universally observed on 14 different dielectrics with femtosecond pulses at 800 nm and 1.8μm.
