Octave Spanning Frequency Comb Generation in a Dispersion-Controlled Short Silicon-Wire Waveguide with a Fiber Laser Oscillator

Abstract

We demonstrate on-chip frequency comb generation spanning from 900 to 2300 nm, the widest bandwidth with a laser oscillator (only 50-pJ pulse energy), by controlling dispersion and propagation distance of silicon-wire waveguides.
