Low chirp operation of transverse-coupled-cavity VCSELs

Abstract

We present the coupling mode modeling and experimental measurements on the frequency chirp of the transverse-coupled-cavity VCSELs (TCC VCSELs). The simulation and experimental results both show a 3-dB-modulation bandwidth enhancement and chirp reduction simultaneously.
