Abstract

We report an on-chip sensor interrogator based on thermal-optic ring resonators with a significantly enhanced speed. By using the transient response to a step thermal input, the interrogator was demonstrated to have a 52 kHz speed and 19.2 nm range with 0.33 nm resolution.
