Mechanically Flexible Photonic-Crystal Cavities on Strained Germanium Fabricated by Nanomembrane Assembly

Abstract

Mechanically flexible photonic-crystal cavities consisting of disconnected Si-column arrays are fabricated on Ge nanomembranes by a novel membrane assembly approach. Photonic-crystal cavity resonances are clearly observed in the strain-enhanced photoluminescence spectra.
