Optical Filter Optimization Using Phase-Sensitive Amplification with Unequalized Signal/Idler Inputs

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel optical filter employing amplification and de-amplification in a phase-sensitive amplifier with enhanced optical extinction ratios through signal/idler input power imbalance. Optimal power imbalance enables 60 dB rejection in the RF domain.
