THz-induced luminescence in ZnO nanocrystals with strong dependence on the excitation frequency

Abstract

We report on luminescence in ZnO nanocrystals under intense THz free electron laser excitation. The spectrum of the THz-induced luminescence is drastically changed for the excitation frequency due to field electron emission by avalanche breakdown.
