mW femtosecond mid-IR source at 8.5 μm wavelength

Abstract

450 mW of average power at 8.5 µm central wavelength are generated through optical parametric amplification in LiGaS2. The crystal is pumped by a mode-locked thin-disk oscillator and seeded by the output of a photonic crystal fiber.
