Single-Shot Characterization of Picosecond Optical Pulses by Spectral Phase Diversity

Abstract

A spectral phase-diversity technique is demonstrated for optical pulse characterization. Processing of the waveforms photodetected after various amounts of chromatic dispersion leads to precise characterization of picosecond pulses shorter than the photodetection impulse response.
