Schrodinger Cat States and Quasiprobability Distributions

Abstract

We consider the P-function of nonclassical states, such as the Schrodinger cat state, using the theory of distributions. It is seen that the P-function for this state can be given by a generalized Dirac delta function that admits complex arguments. Other nonclassical states are also considered.
