Tunable Narrow Linewidth Microwave Oscillator based on an Optically Injected Semiconductor Laser using Opto-Electronic Feedback

Abstract

Without a local oscillator or rf amplifier, we exploit the fact that an optically injected semiconductor laser can be used to generate microwave signals to demonstrate a <3 Hz microwave oscillator tunable over 18 GHz.
