Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate mid-infrared polarization rotators in silicon-on-sapphire at wavelength λ= 4.55µm to enable integration of quantum cascade lasers and detectors with slotted photonic crystal waveguide gas sensors. Polarization selective grating couplers are also demonstrated.
