Compact bi-direction pumped hybrid double-cladding EYDF amplifier

Abstract

The double-cladding EYDF with different core diameter is connected by an asymmetric cladding light striper (CLS) to realize bi-direction pumping and increase the loss of counter-propagating light. The experimental results shows that this amplifier has benefit to enhance the SBS threshold.
