Abstract

Efficient light coupling to integrated photonic devices is vital. We present novel, double-inverse tapers, which can achieve optimum coupling with arbitrary polarization. Reduced lithography requirement makes the double-inverse tapers promising for operation at near-IR and visible wavelengths.
