All Optical Control of Pulse Storage Time and Retrieval Phase Using a Diamond Microdisk

Abstract

Enhancement of optomechanical pulse storage time is demonstrated, for the first time, in a multimode diamond microdisk cavity. Optical control of the mechanical damping rate and frequency allows > 5× enhancement of the pulse storage time, and a maximum controllable pulse phase shift of ~ 2π.
