Laser Frequency Stabilization at ≤ 10-16 from a Thermal Atomic bBeam

Abstract

We describe a system for ultra-stable laser frequency generation using Ramsey-Borde interferometry with atomic calcium. Unprecedented frequency instabilities from a thermal ensemble are demonstrated.
