Abstract

We theoretically study the effect of tree-carrier lifetime on processing speed and nonlinearity, pertaining to our all-optical thresholder. We also experimentally demonstrate speed improvement from 400 Mbps to 2.5 Gbps incorporating PN-junction mediated free-carrier removal.
