Athermal Operation of Multi-Section Surface Grating Lasers for Applications including Burst-Mode for TWDM-PONs

Abstract

A multi-section laser with high order surface grating is operated athermally with variation in wavelength of 0.003 nm (±375 MHz) from 10-100 °C. In pulsed operation emulating burst mode, the maximum variation is 0.05 nm.
