All Polarization-Maintaining Wavelength-Tunable Femtosecond Pulse Mode-Locked Fiber Laser Based on Strain Controlled Lyot-Filter

Abstract

We demonstrate for the first time a strain controlled all-PM fiber Lyot-filter which serve as a new wavelength tuning mechanism for all-PM femtosecond pulse mode-locked fiber laser. This tuning mechanism is approximately 100 times more efficient than previous approaches and suitable for generating kHz-order wavelength-swept femtosecond pulse laser.
