Fabrication of an Inch-scale High-Q Fiber Ring Resonator

Abstract

We demonstrate an inch-scale fiber ring resonator with its core partially exposed by droplet-based wet etching for efficient coupling. A quality factor of (3.14±0.3)×107 with a free spectral range of ~2.2 GHz was measured.
