An ANN-based QoT Estimation Model with Asymmetric Loss Function for Networks Capacity Improvement

Abstract

An ANN-based QoT estimator with asymmetric loss function is proposed. It enables efficient assignment of modulation format, which increases network capacity compared to the model trained based on the symmetric loss function in test networks.
