Ultrahigh-Q packaged silica microrod cavity for microcomb generation

Abstract

A packaged silica microrod cavity with greater than one billion Q factor is demonstrated. Based on this packaged device, a single soliton microcomb with repetition rate of 24 GHz is generated.
