Wavelength Conversion of a 36 Gb/s Net Rate PAM-4 Signal Using an a-Si Waveguide

Abstract

Wavelength conversion of a net rate 36 Gb/s PAM-4 signal is achieved using an amorphous silicon waveguide with less than 23 dBm of pump power, enabled by over 13 dB improvement in the output-to-input conversion efficiency.
