Towards Continuous Wave, Single Mode, Surface-Emitting Laser at 24µm

Abstract

A surface emitting, single mode laser at 24µm is presented, based on InGaAs/AlInAs system. Processed into a metal-metal device and employing planarization technology, heat dissipation can be improved on the way to continuous wave operation.
