WDM Photonic Synaptic Interconnects for Sparse Photonic Neural Networks

Abstract

We propose a new wavelength-division-multiplexed silicon photonic synaptic interconnect based on silicon microring resonators in between two silicon nitride star couplers. Further, we experimentally observe the reconfigurability of the proposed scheme on foundry-enabled chip.
