Half-integer angular momentum and multi-defect localization in photonic crystal microring resonators

Abstract

We demonstrate half-integer angular momentum light in a high-quality-factor photonic crystal ring with good waveguide coupling and reduced group velocity. Additionally, multiple modes can be localized to small volumes within the ring, and their orientation can be well-controlled.
