Abstract

The results of several years of experience at the U.S. Army Missile Command in calibrating laser radar compact ranges is discussed. This experience covers a range of cross-sections covering more than ten orders of magnitude and includes the use of both specular and diffuse calibration targets. A calibration target is one of known cross-section which can be used to obtain a relationship between signal and cross-section for a laser radar or a compact range.
