Using Speckle to Build Compact, High-Resolution Spectrometers

Abstract

Speckle pattern produced by a random structure or a multimode fiber carries spectral information of the input signal. We build a disordered on-chip spectrometer with sub-nm resolution and an all-fiber spectrometer with 1 pm resolution.
