Abstract
The high cost of launching satellites into space ($10M-$100M) drives systems towards very high-performance and high-reliability imaging systems. The tried-and-true high-resolution earth imaging architecture is comprised of Time-Delay Integration (TDI) CCD image sensors combined with a near-perfect optical telescopes. At Terra Bella, we have taken a different approach to simplify the design and operations of our imaging system by leveraging fast commercial CMOS imaging sensors.
