Light Field Imaging for Accurate and Realistic Capture of Complex Objects

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The light field encompasses all visual information of a scene. It describes light propagation in every direction through every point in space. Through densely sampling the light field, complementary information such as 3D shape and surface properties of complex objects can be reconstructed. We will present approaches that allow an accurate and realistic capture of complex objects. Industrial applications as well as captures for realistic content visualisations will be presented.
