Single-shot Raman linewidth measurements using time-resolved rotational CARS

Abstract

A novel hybrid picosecond-nanosecond rotational CARS system is demonstrated for measurements of Raman linewidths of N2 and O2 at ambient conditions. Averaged data agree very well with previous results. The single-shot linewidth measurements are consistent with the linewidths extracted from averaged data. The potential for simultaneous thermometry and linewidth measurements on a single-shot basis is discussed.
