A Quantum Repeater Using Short Atomic Memories and Telecommunication-Compatible Photons

Abstract

A quantum repeater proposal combining local entanglement generation, atomic cascade transitions, and a new connection algorithm that entangles elements 1,000 km. distant using telecommunication-compatible photons and memory coherence times less than 10 ms.
