Efficient interfacing ultrashort and nanosecond single-photon pulses

Abstract

We experimentally realized spectral bandwidth compression of heralded single photons via electro-optic phase modulation driven by wide-band radio-frequency signals. We modified single-photon bandwidth by two orders of magnitude, reaching sub-1.5-GHz.
