Abstract

This paper presents the capabilities of NASA's neutral buoyancy test facility located at Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama, as applicable to Space Telescope engineering development simulations. Because Space Telescope is the first unmanned spacecraft designed to be maintained on-orbit, many of its design features are unique and the solutions to complex maintenance problems will set precedents, or at least departure points, for future generations of maintainable spacecraft.
