Abstract
A new technique for simultaneous spatial and temporal focusing using a diffractive lens is proposed. The diffractive spatiotemporal lens gives a laser pulse with small focusing size, high peak intensity, and short duration only on the focus point. Furthermore it achieves a compensation of wavelength dispersion of the diffractive lens for a femtosecond laser pulse.
