Abstract

The dimensions and refractive index of a partially stripped optical fibre are evaluated by means of digital holographic microscopy. A recently introduced procedure for decoupling the information about the topography and refractive index from the phase information is employed for fully characterizing a multimode optical fibre. The obtained results are in good agreement with the specification provided by the manufacturer.
