Elastic Depth Profiling of Soft Tissue by Holographic Imaging of Surface Acoustic Waves

Abstract

Digital holography is used to image surface acoustic waves in tissue-mimicking silicone phantoms. Elastic depth profiles, at depths up to 30mm, are then obtained from the phase velocity dispersion curves by solving the inverse problem.
