Abstract

We propose a mesh-based computer-generated-hologram synthesis technique that removes dark artifacts on the boundary between the meshes and enables fast update of the shading effect. In order to remove the visible artifacts on the mesh boundary, the vertex positions of each mesh are adjusted so that they have the uniform phase. The Fourier series components of the shading model are pre-computed and linearly combined in order to synthesize the computer-generated- hologram at a given illumination direction with a faster speed.
