Topological Charge Measurement Using Statistical Fringe Processing

Abstract

An automated technique to measure the topological charge of optical vortices using statistical fringe processing is demonstrated. Arm-like structures appearing on the statistical contrast maps are used to evaluate integer and fractional topological charges.
