Abstract

Optical scanning holography (OSH) is a scanning type digital holographic technique and is able to record an incoherent complex hologram of a three-dimensional object without speckle noise. However, the incoherent complex hologram cannot be optically displayed directly. To solve this problem, we propose to use bidirectional error diffusion method (BERD) to convert the incoherent complex hologram into a phase-only hologram for holographic display.
