Abstract

Main drawback of using grating-based phase-contrast tomography is long acquisition time compared to propagation-based phase-contrast. Fast camera systems based on CMOS-sensors can compensate for this, but come with the cost of a lower dynamic range. Here we will present our study comparing the performance of a grating interferometer using a CMOS-based camera and a CCD-based camera. Our results show, that especially for grating-based phase-contrast the experiment benefits a lot from the reduced acquisition time with almost no decline in image quality or data accuracy.
