Abstract
Typically, the intensity images on the focus plane and the out-of-focus plane are captured by a 4-f imaging system for phase retrieval using the transport-of-intensity equation (TIE). The major issue with such a technique is that the sample or the camera will have to be moved along the optical axis. In this talk, we propose a technique in that a digital hologram is first captured by digital holography, the different intensity images are then reconstructed from the hologram to provide inputs for the TIE to retrieve the phase information. By doing this, we avoid shifting of the sample or the camera in the experiment. We show experimental results to verify the effectiveness of our proposed method.
