Indistinguishable photons from an NV centre beyond cryogenic temperatures

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We present an analytical model where the NV centre is coupled to an ultra-small mode volume cavity with a Q ~ 200 where coupling g and κ are of the order of 1 THz, allowing 40 % indistinguishable photons to be produced with a 99 % efficiency at 200 K. We show this holds when non-Markovian dynamics are included to model the phonon sideband. We demonstrate this cavity could be realised in a low index 1D photonic crystal compatible with visible light emission.
